This week, the Equal Opportunities Commission conducted a capacity-building training on gender and equity planning and budgeting for district local government planners and gender focal persons from different Sub-regions.
The training was held at the Equal Opportunities head offices at Kingdom Kampala and included the Central, Northern, Eastern, and Western Sub-regions.
The training aimed to strengthen the capacity of district local government planners in integrating gender and equity considerations into planning and budgeting processes.
It also sought to deepen their understanding of gender and equity concepts, empowering them to implement policies and initiatives that are more responsive to gender and equity issues within their districts.
